K-10 October 2007 Sunday Session De ALS2001 This is video that was shot of the October 2007 Public operating session on Sunday, October 6th, 2007. This time, I am running 3 Trains on the Lower Level. A Manifest with 2 Atlas MP15DC's in the Manufactures Railway Co. Scheme, a Shorter Manifest with a GMTX GP38-2 and a Roadrailer with my NS SD70 with a Great Northern Caboose at the End. Some of the other trains that are viewed are that of a SP Coke Train pulled with a pair of Double Headed Pennsylvania Railroad Decapods, an Imitation of the Coast Daylight pulled by a SP GS-4 4-8-4, and two freights pulled by two famous Articulated Locomotives, a SP 4-8-8-2 Cab Forward and a UP 4-8-8-4 Big Boy. K-10 Model trains is the largest layout open to the public in the St. Louis area. Measuring 30x60, the layout operates with both DCC on the upper level, and analog DC on the Lower Level. The general public is welcome to view this mostly complete HO Scale layout on the first Sunday of each month, and every Sunday between Thanksgiving and New Years. While there, visit the hobby shop, packed full with the latest in Model Railroad equipment in N, HO and 3 rail trains. They also have an ample supply of R/C equipment, along with a race track. Store hours a Weds-Sun 2-5, except Thursday, 2-10. To visit K-10's, the easiest way to get there is take I-270 to exit 12, and go south. Travel 2 miles to first light after the Subway, and turn Left. Travel about a 1/4 mile to the first street on the right. K-10's is in a nondescript white metal building that has a Cross Buck and a old Mine car in the gravel parking lot. |
